Sole Mates

I am currently working on two gorgeous pairs of socks. I'm alternating between them so I don't get bored of staring at the same yarn, and end up with Second Sock Syndrome. Here are the first of each pair!

The striped sock was made with Deborah Norville Serenity Sock Weight in Harlequin, and the red is KnitPicks Stroll Tonal in Gypsy. For needles I used Clover Circulars, size 2, 48" cable. I did a simple 5 row 1x1 rib for the cuff, stockinette for the leg and foot, and eye of the partridge stitch for the heel. I LOVE the diamond pattern it creates. Here is a closeup.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I'll update with more when the pairs are finished.

Quick little update!

I currently have a lot of WIP (works in progress) going on. I also recently discovered I am NOT allergic to wool. Hallelujah! I have also learned how to knit socks. I'm getting through my snowflake afghan (17 blocks out of 55 finished, I'm doing a smaller size now), and I will have a KnitPicks haul to share this week. So stay tuned!

Artfully Simple Infinity Scarf

This was a very quick scarf to make up! It took me just a few hours, because it's mostly chain stitching. I used a yarn I got over a year ago from a friend of mine. It's hand spun, hand dyed bamboo. It's lovely and super soft and shiny. Since I'm allergic to wool, she was kind enough to send me some bamboo to replace what she had sent me (which is how I found out I'm allergic). The button I used was an old one that was sitting around in my drawer. I have no idea where it came from!

Crafter's Log: Supplemental 1

This post is going to be pretty short, but I just wanted to share the cute new craft bag I picked up at Jo-Ann's. I also got some size 8 double pointed knitting needles, but that's boring. Here's the bag! It combines two of my favorite things... snowflakes and owls!

I hope you enjoyed this post. See you next time!

The First Flake Has Fallen

Today I decided to start an afghan. I already had some supplies, and I looked up blocks on ravelry. I came across a snowflake pattern, and judging by the title of my blog, you know I had to do it. I will include the link to the pattern at the end. I'm going to include a picture of my first block, and then direct you to my ravelry page where I will have more info. I will also be updating there as I go along, so make sure to add me as a friend if you want to keep up with my progress!

As I said in the notes on my ravelry page, I did have issues with the "remix" version of this pattern. My stitches weren't adding up, and that may have been my error. I'm not sure exactly what went wrong. I may figure it out when I do my next block, but I have decided to just stick with the smaller block. I have to make 98 more of these for the size I want. GAH. I feel like that will take forever, but I'm quick. I definitely need to pick up more yarn... I only have one partial skein of each color. I used Red Heart Super Saver Amethyst and Turqua. I will update when I have blocked these. I also plan to use some softening methods to make the yarn a bit less harsh. I will let you know how those go.

Welcome to my blog!

Hi, everyone! This is my new crafting blog where I will write about the things I do in my spare time. This includes crocheting, knitting, painting, jewelry design, and anything else my heart desires. I hope you will subscribe and pull up a chair as I tell you stories about the mayhem that my crafting journey is. The title comes form the fact that I adore snowflakes and I love lace. I also enjoy crocheting lace snowflakes, so there is that. Enjoy!
